Top 9th: Bret Boone robbed Vernon Wells of a base hit. Randy Johnson carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning at the ballpark where the Jefferson Park Penguins beat the Dominican Republicans by the score of 7 to 3. Johnson(4-3) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the Dominican batters. He allowed just 3 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Johnson mowed down 15 Dominican batters improving his ERA from 3.60 to 3.09. The left-handed Johnson had his no-hit bid broken up by Torii Hunter who singled with two outs in the 6th inning. Jefferson Park managed 7 in their victory. Kyle Lohse(0-2) was hit with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 6 and 1/3 innings of work. Johnson was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'
